The LC / MS QTOF device consists of a Sciex TripleTOF 6600+ mass spectrometer coupled to ExionLC AD and Expert nanoLC 400 chromatographs. The device separates the sample components by chromatographic techniques at 100 nL/min to 3 ml/min. The mass spectrometer has a high data collection rate combined with high resolution. It can collect the MS/MS spectra of each analyte detected. It has high sensitivity and a wide dynamic range which ensures reliable quantification. The technical characteristics of the device allow for a very diverse application. It can be used in proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, monitoring drug metabolism and metabolic intermediates, identifying small organic molecules (secondary metabolites, toxins), etc. It is also suitable for applications such as detecting unknown compounds in food, environment and forensic samples. It has application in the pharmaceutical industry to characterise biotherapeutics and host cell proteins used for their production.
